This master plan prepared for a design charrette with Duany Plater-Zyberk, envisions a new residential neighborhood on the bank of the Hudson River. Through a combination of public projects and private development, the plan seeks to restore the City of Newburgh as a vibrant New Urbanist community.
The centerpiece of the plan is the conversion of the nineteenth-century Regal Bag factory into waterfront residential lofts surrounded by several rows of townhouses. Our designs explore the use of red brick to honor the town’s historic industrial architectural vernacular.
