The renovation of this noted Art Deco building overlooking Central Park combines an art collector's apartment with a similar unit on the floor below. The newly formed duplex preserves the intimate scale of the old apartment while creating brand new spaces for entertaining. The simplification of the labyrinthine floor plans improves the organization of space and allows for freer circulation throughout the apartments. Removing walls and combining rooms within each unit introduce light and air into the interior. The living room, study, dining room and kitchen are located on the first floor while a spiral staircase leads to bedrooms and a private sitting area above. Interior design was done by John Barman.
