Newburgh Waterfront Master Plan by
Alexander Gorlin Architects

This master plan prepared for a design charrette with Duany Plater-Zyberk, envisions a new residential neighborhood on the bank of the Hudson River. Through a combination of public projects and private development, the plan seeks to restore the City of Newburgh as a vibrant New Urbanist community.

We were asked to design the centerpiece of the plan, the conversion of a nineteenth-century factory into waterfront residential lofts, in addition to several sets of townhouses. Our designs explore the use of red brick to honor the town’s historic industrial architectural vernacular.
