Marcus Garvey Village by
Alexander Gorlin Architects

Founded in 1975, Marcus Garvey Village located in the Brownsville neighborhood of eastern Brooklyn provides 625 apartments to the formerly homeless and families in need. Alexander Gorlin Architects is working with the not-for-profit organization, Community Solutions, to reimagine the existing “low-rise, high-density” plan. Existing units range from studios to 5-bedroom apartments each with its own front door and private courtyard areas. The fesaibility study presents a more welcoming and green living environment based on the existing plan.
