East Berlin Master Plan by
Alexander Gorlin Architects

This joint venture between a private developer, assorted community groups and the City of Berlin seeks to transform an abandoned industrial area in the eastern sector into a vibrant mixed-use neighborhood. More than 3 million SF of residential units are proposed, combining market rate with affordable housing with an emphasis on refugee accommodation. A retail corridor lines the main boulevard into the neighborhood. Community facilities include a school, daycare center, community center and multi-faith place of worship.
