Apartment at The Ansonia by
Alexander Gorlin Architects

The renovation and conjoining of two apartments at the Ansonia simplifies the layout of each unit at this notoriously labyrinthine landmark building.

A rabbit warren of two apartments were joined together to create one place that occupies the premier corner tower of the legendary structure.

A public hallway was incorporated into the apartment that creates a dramatic vestibule as an introduction to the geometric arrangement of the rooms that resolves the two geometries of the Broadway and New York City grid.

The dining room is the center of the apartment and provides views through to the exterior. The culmination is the round room of the living area that has view radiating out down Broadway and across to Central Park.
